“Hang Gliding” is an effort to explore flight through painted-collage. I have made several paintings dealing with the subject of earthbound and celestial flight. (I often rely on airborne angels who appear as needed) On the other hand, hang gliders are winged-structures that float in the sky on up-drafts with a “pilot” perched on board to steer and navigate. My collage hang glider, tilting to the left, is designed to allow my spirit to soar on the imaginary-thermals in my mind. A large horizontal wing on the right acts as a counter-balance. I borrowed the shadowed-color with a bright edge from a few green butterflies I have known.
