In 1955, Paul Rebeyrolle went through his own personal inner revolution, which left even his most ardent admirers quite disconcerted. There was a new freedom in his representations and his style went quickly from representative to plastic. From then on, Reyberolle went to the essential of expressing his own sense of poetry working on the human body as if it were clay in his hands. For a time, he went almost completely abstract, then he found his own point of equilibrium between the reality of the world he saw and his own inner world.
