Pyramid At Dawn, 2021
Acrylic and Collage on Paper

"'Pyramid at Dawn' revisits impressions I formed during an art school field trip to sacred Mexican sites. (Photo of monumental Egyption pyramids, also played a role) However, my pyramid is light blue; a first in the history of pyramids. (The surrounding grey tonality suggests some mist in the air) A bright yellow entrance is shaded in blue. It offers a way in and a way out. It leads to an illuminated green chamber glowing within. A slight axial-tilt releases the weight of gravity to produce a levitating pyramid to contemplate."
