“I am not interested in replicating nature, but rather the bits and pieces that have struck a cord with me” - Carlos Ramirez

Sante Fe, NM based artist, Carlos Ramirez, continues to strike a cord with his audience through his thoughtful and compelling artistry.  Prior to painting any collection of works, Ramirez sketches loose shapes and lines from the natural world onto his canvases.  While these lines eventually morph into painted strokes, they preserve the vital connection between the audience and Ramirez’s interpretation of nature. 

In taking moments during his painting process to pause and reflect on his use of colors and light, Ramirez gains objectivity from the emotion he brings to the canvas – allowing for an exchange and partnership between himself and the dynamic his work embodies.
