"Covering: Blue Wall" comes from a group of narrative paintings dating from the 1980s. The compositions feature a grand piano, often with a man near a woman pianist to generate a story line throughout the entire series. Public musical performances in public and private settings over many years are the subject of these works. Romanticism dominates throughout and is manifested by the quick execution of open brushwork to produce diffused light and shade. Most pieces from this series were created using a wet on wet technique.
